In the memory of the singing legend Mohd Rafi on his 27th death anniversary on 31st July 1980, The Rafi Foundation – Mumbai Chapter is releasing SARGAM – a special issue magazine devoted to him.

The magazine will be a special Collectors item copy which will carry articles, photographs, anecdotes and reminiscences from people who were closely associated with the singing star.

The activities of The Rafi Foundation will be sustained by the advertising revenue. The main aim of this newly formed foundation is to bring closer all the Rafi fans on a single platform. It would also celebrate Rafi’s birthday by building a library having Rafi’s works and institute an award for extraordinary musicians in the memory of the prodigy.

Mohd Rafi is known for his mellifluous singing of soft romantic numbers ghazals, bhangra, bhajans, classicals, sad songs, duets, and even high pitched fast numbers.
